HARD COVER ● TRAY OPTIONS ● CLOSURE OPTIONS

The box is supplied assembled and set up. It is custom-made from two parts glued to each other, one of which is the book-style hard cover and the other is a rigid tray or a frame tray.

The same hard cover style is used for both tray options. What varies, are the tray’s construction and materials. An essential difference between the two styles is that the frame tray depth is limited to 60 mm and specifically suitable for promotional and presentation items. The rigid tray’s depth can be much greater.

The cover’s spine can be glued to the tray, or it may remain unglued to lay flat.

Hard Cover

The 3 panels have a greyboard core covered with a binding material.
Most often, the greyboard is 2 mm thick, but the thickness may vary according to the client’s request.
The binding material is typically thin paper and the possible paper options are endless.

Rigid Tray

The rigid tray has a greyboard core covered with a binding material.
Again, the greyboard is usually 2 mm thick, but the thickness may vary according to the client’s request.
The binding material is thin paper which may be the exact same as the hard cover’s binding material.

Frame Tray

The tray is made from thick paperboard with a weight of ca. 300-350 gsm.

Inside the hollow wall opposite to the spine we glue a hidden 2 mm greyboard reinforcement which makes the box as reliable as any rigid box.

Closures

Listed below are the two most popular, reliable closure options. This functionality can be discussed and taken into account during the project brief step of the process at the beginning of our project.

Typically involves two hidden magnets integrated into the tray’s wall and corresponding metallic plates glued to the hard cover’s inside, under the paper.

Two pieces of ribbon are glued to the box with two ends remaining loose ready for tying. The ribbon may vary in material, colour, width and length.

Design Upgrades

Make it remarkable

WITH INTEGRATED ADDITIONAL COMPONENTS

The box upgrades are packaging design elements for extra functionality, custom inner shape or new capacity. Each of them presents a great opportunity to create tailored packaging solutions.

Ribbons

Delicate flat ribbons are a great embellishment to the luxury box. They come in a great variety and are available in different widths and lengths, colours and materials.

The ribbons are easy-to-use pulls or stoppers and add to the box appeal and to the unboxing experience. For our products, we offer ribbon lifts and ribbon stops, which can be used separately or in combination. Design tips

Tray Inserts

The tray inserts are custom elements made from paper and solidboard. They create custom inner shapes or change the tray capacity.
All the extra inserts are instruments for a greater unboxing experience. They can be used separately or in combination. The interior tray and interior lid are packaging solutions pre-designed by nPack’s team and customisable in size and appearance. Dividers and custom inlays are developed according to clients’ projects. Design tips

Pockets

All pockets provided by nPack are box elements made from paper and solidboard. Paper pockets are made to order and their shapes and sizes are customisable. They are suitable for flat paper sheets, such as documents and certificates, or for any type of card. The sleeve pocket and the paper wallet serve as envelopes while the mounting corners fix an envelope to the box’s top panel. Typically, the pockets are glued to an exact place on the box according to clients’ needs. Design tips

Sleeves

The sleeves are partial box wrappers opened at two ends.

The outer sleeve and the banderole are used as means of fixing the box closed, or just for the purpose of adding an extra printable surface. Design tips
